Sounds of Silence
He remembered the silence, it had haunted him for months. He had blamed himself for everything that had happened, superstition had crept in. Only if he has stayed and waited patiently outside the door…things may have been different.
Flashes of those moments made him clench his fist, his palms were sweating, what if she does not understand.
“It wasn’t you”, he felt her soft fingers on his hand.
Her name was called out. She stood up, holding his hand.
“I think I will just stay here”, he pleaded to her with his eyes.
“No, I won’t go in there without you. We are in this together”, she was firm on her decision like always and led him by his hand. He followed like a baby holding on to his mothers finger…his heart beating faster.
It just took a few minutes…and the sound of silence was broken by the fast pumping heart of their 10 weeks old baby!
